Letter From the Editor
Summer 2006
Dear Lovers of the Bible’s light,
Of overwhelming truths found in God’s Word, the
psalmist said, “O, how love I thy law! It is my mediation all the day”
(Psalm 119:197).
What did he mean? That all he did was sit in a
rocker and meditate? Certainly not! The meaning is viewed in the context and
many other Scriptures. “Thou through thy commandments has made me wiser
than my enemies, for they are ever with me (verse 198). The psalmist was
putting into practice each day God’s laws-for-living, and love led the way.
Have
you tried it? Have you tried personal Bible study and gave it up? Do not be
discouraged, for by putting into your daily walk the things you DO
understand, you will find it rewarding beyond imagination. Because there is
still much anyone of us do NOT understand, is no reason to “throw out the
baby with the bath water.”
Praise Report:
A goal of several years has been realized. I have
rented an apartment in Jerusalem – with the added goal of being a blessing
to both Jews and Christians with a place where they can meet and share in
understanding of Bible subjects without feeling threatened by conversion
attempts and without bigoted arguments. Some basic guidelines assure this
atmosphere.
After two months in the States, I am returning this
summer to Jerusalem. I invite you to be a part of this endeavor by your
prayers and support as you think you should be. It is a place, also, to
entertain friends who may be visiting Israel.
If at all possible to correspond by e-mail,
please send me your address to
chris@bible-light.com and I will put you on the list for my newsletters
from Jerusalem. You also may write to me in Jerusalem at PO Box 10567.
May you be blessed out of Zion. Isaiah 2:3 and Micah
4:10.
In the Love of El Shaddai,
Chris
