Shalom (peace) Haverim
(friends),
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in
unity” Psalm 133:1). This Psalm is usually quoted (or sung) with just
this verse. But the next verses (leaving out the italicized words which mean
they are supplied by the translator) say, “like the precious ointment
upon the head that ran down upon the beard, Aaron’s beard: that went down to
the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon that descended upon the
mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, life for
evermore.” (all of Psalm 133).
In other
words being in unity brings an anointing and a refreshing from the Ruach
HaHodash (Holy Spirit). This is so needed in our personal lives (and also in
the high areas of the earth, symbolized by mountains). The result is
the blessing of the Lord and life evermore. We really can experience the
adage, “so they lived happily ever after”!! But what is the key element of
unity? Certainly it is not agreement in everything. We are all uniquely
different! But rather in the keeping of the commandment of love thy
neighbor as thyself. Love and life are twin sisters.
All that to say, I’m
glad you are my ‘family’. And accept my apology, please, for this delay in
getting out our mailing because of the proverbial,
due-to-circumstances-beyond-our-control. (You have a right to be thinking,
“So what else is new?”)
Since moving from
Kansas to Iowa, things are progressing and moving forward very well, in
spite of the adjustments required in making such a sweeping move! Bible
studies in the Christian and Midrashim (Hebrew) sense have
been set up and well attended. I find it great to sit with those who are
sincere in searching for truth – and all of us need it for our life’s
challenges.
In our mailings, it
is impossible to include all we would like to send to you. A wealth of
information comes across our desks each day. And in personal study of the
Word and in our Midrashim here, we come into wonderful understanding of
Scriptures opening anew to us. As time affords, we really would like to be
able to share more with you. If you have an e-mail address and would like to
be on a special list to receive more information, please let us know. We
will be discerning in what we forward and try not to be too wordy in our own
writings.
There is no charge
for this service – not that it is without costs, and BLI is not underwritten
by any person or foundation. We continue to operate on the slogan,
When He leads, He feeds; when He guides, He provides. We can do only
what He directs us to do – and that many times through you. Please let us
know if you are interested in doing such studies via e-mail.
Always in
His Love,
Chris |
