Cover – In the synagogue inside the Ein Karem
Hadassah Medical Center are beautiful stained glass windows by the famous
French Jewish artist, Marc Chagall. These represent the twelve tribes of
Israel and their symbols from the blessing Jacob gave to each tribe. We have
chosen the one depicting Judah for the cover of this issue of Bible Light on
the News. Jacob’s blessing included: “Judah, you are he whom your
brethren shall praise…your father’s children shall bow down before you…The
scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a law-giver from between his feet,
until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be”
(Genesis 49:8-10)
